Nomad Tanzania has a collection of adventurous safari camps in far-flung locations throughout Tanzania. It prides itself on authenticity and dedication to the original explorer-style safari, where home-style comfort meets connection to nature.

Nomad is committed to supporting communities in the areas in which it operates by providing employment opportunities, medical outreach, and funding for local schools. The company is mindful of its carbon footprint, sourcing local produce wherever possible, recycling, using natural materials, and reducing the use of plastic in its camps. Last but by no means least, Nomad Tanzania is renowned for the quality of its professional wildlife guides, some of whom have been with the company for more than twenty years.

We love the Nomad brand as it is about as safari focused as you can get. The camps are in amazing locations, including Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, Nyerere National Park, and Ruaha National Park. Greystoke Mahale on Lake Tanganyika is an iconic property known for its one-of-a-kind encounters with the habituated chimps of the Mahale Mountains – a journey guaranteed to inspire even the most intrepid explorers.

Nomad also operates an off-grid expeditionary walking camp that takes safari-goers to secluded parts of Tanzania, visited by very few others. The properties’ rustic charms wow those seeking rugged comfort, but if you’re looking for high luxury with marble baths and so on, this is not the right match. These safaris are designed to bring travellers close to nature, with wild settings open to the elements. The company prides itself on creating opportunities for local communities and improving lives through health, education, and conservation. Positive impact is a key part of Nomad’s mission, and using the camps to provide outreach is a fundamental part of the business.
