Georgia’s Recent Travel Experience

Georgia’s last trip was a return to South Africa, where she spent some time in Cape Town, the Winelands, and the Sabi Sands, staying at some of our favorite high-end properties.

Georgia’s Most Memorable Experience

“I had always wanted to see a cheetah hunting, and on my most recent trip to Africa I witnessed this in the Kwara reserve in the Okavango Delta. Our guide led us to a cheetah and her two adorable cubs, and we followed them from a distance all afternoon with no other vehicle in sight. The mum left her cubs hidden in long grass behind a termite mound and then prowled the land for prey before taking off and sprinting after a red lechwe. I didn’t want to miss a moment, so I put my camera down and watched in utter awe at the speed of this cheetah, seeing her kick up the dust on the dry ground. She was unsuccessful in taking the red lechwe down, and it was all over in a few seconds, but I was just ecstatic that I’d seen a cheetah in action without any tourists around!”

Georgia’s Bio

Georgia’s love for Africa originated from a trip to Namibia, where she took part in renovating a primary school and fell in love with the people and the mind-blowing landscapes. On this trip she experienced her first safari at Etosha National Park, and this ignited her passion for Africa’s wildlife. A few years later she volunteered on a tropical habitat conservation project in Madagascar, living on a remote island for 3 months, and later she travelled the north and western region of this astonishing country. Georgia joined a well-known tour operator in London 6 years ago and has since seen the majority of southern and eastern Africa, from the vast open plains of the Serengeti, to the floodplains of the Okavango Delta in Botswana, to the far-reaching rock-hewn churches of Ethiopia.
