Jecca’s Recent Travel Experience

Jecca has travelled extensively across Northern Tanzania, exploring the iconic landscapes of the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire. She has even ventured to Southern Tanzania, where she enjoyed boat safaris in the Selous and unforgettable wild dog sightings in Ruaha National Park.
Her experience doesn’t stop there. Jecca also completed an in-depth journey through Uganda, tracking mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and chimpanzees in Kibale National Park, both of which she describes as among the most profound wildlife encounters of her life. She also made a memorable stop in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, experiencing its atmospheric bamboo forests and learning more about the country’s leading role in gorilla conservation. These first-hand adventures enable Jecca to offer genuinely informed advice and insight when planning safaris, ensuring the journeys she creates are as practical as they are inspirational.
Jecca’s Most Memorable Experience

“It’s hard to pick just one, but an experience that stays with me vividly is helping to safely trap and release a leopard near Mount Kenya. It had wandered off the Lewa Conservancy and was threatening local livestock. I remember the moment we approached the trap at 3 a.m., still half-asleep, only to be met by the low, resonating growl of the leopard — I felt an incredible mix of awe, adrenaline, and respect. To be that close to such a majestic animal in the wild was unforgettable.”

Jecca’s Bio
Born and raised in the Cotswolds, Jecca developed a love for the outdoors from a young age. Her first visit to Kenya sparked an obsession with the African wilderness, one that has taken her on countless journeys across the continent over the last 20 years. After university, she spent time living in Kenya, working on a farm at the foothills of Mount Kenya, and immersing herself in the rhythms of local life, conservation efforts, and community engagement.
Jecca’s career in conservation and safari began organically during her time living in Kenya. She worked for a horse-riding safari company that operated on the slopes of Mount Kenya, giving her a unique perspective on both tourism and wildlife. She also volunteered with the Mount Kenya Trust, contributing to environmental education and local community support initiatives. Jecca’s passion for responsible tourism has taken her to the Lewa and Borana conservancies, where she’s seen for herself the impact of conservation work and the power of tourism to support these efforts. She is deeply committed to designing safaris that not only offer breathtaking wildlife experiences, but also champion local communities and conservation.
Now settled back in the UK, Jecca brings her wealth of experience and love for East Africa to her role at Yellow Zebra Safaris. Whether you’re dreaming of witnessing the Great Migration in Tanzania, trekking with gorillas in Uganda, or discovering Kenya’s remote conservancies, Jecca’s thoughtful approach and personal insight ensure every safari she plans is both memorable and meaningful.
