The main activity at Wilderness Little Mombo is expertly guided game drives. These take place within the wildlife-rich Mombo Concession, an area covering 45,000 hectares, ranging from mopane woodlands and Kalahari sands to riverine forests and shallow floodplains. Some of the Big Five are in residence – lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo. Other carnivores you can expect to see include cheetah, spotted hyena, jackals, and wild dog, while the herbivore count features giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, and an impressive assortment of antelopes.
The birding is equally impressive, with specials such as martial eagle, pygmy goose, fulvous whistling duck, and the mysterious Pel’s fishing owl. Hide viewing is also available, providing thrilling opportunities to get close to the concession’s regular visitors.
There are two hides within a 20- to 30-minute drive from Wilderness Little Mombo. This is ideal for photographers, as the wildlife sightings can be incredible, particularly during the dry months when greater concentrations gather at the waterhole.

A range of scenic helicopter flights showcases scenic and cultural highlights, including Tsodilo Hills (UNESCO World Heritage Site), where you’ll learn about San history and see some of the San people’s remarkable ancient rock art.
This is a dedicated holistic space designed for pure relaxation. Guests now have access to state-of-the-art wellness, including a fully equipped gym, a lap pool, and an ice bath – with quiet places to pause, such as meditation cocoons and a sauna. A range of replenishing massages and therapies allows for a total reset between safari activities.
*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
Wilderness Little Mombo is located on the north-west tip of Chief’s Island within the wildlife-dense Moremi Game Reserve. Access is by light aircraft from Maun to Mombo Airstrip (flying time approximately 25 minutes), followed by a 15-minute car ride from the airstrip to camp. The scenic journey into Little Moremi offers plenty of opportunities for game viewing en route.
The communal spaces at Wilderness Little Mombo are homely and inviting, with an open-sided lounge, bar, and dining area where guests can marvel at the views.

The firepit is a magical place to sit at night under a starry sky and exchange impressions from the day’s safari. Dining in the open air on a deck closer to the floodplains or within the camp’s boma is also possible. Each week, guests are invited to join the spirited traditional boma evening at Wilderness Mombo for music, dancing, and samples of Botswana’s traditional cuisine. The partly shaded plunge pool has sunloungers and a sala with daybeds, and there’s a gym and small spa shared with Wilderness Mombo.
The four guest suites at Wilderness Little Mombo are raised on high timber decking, with walkways linking them to the communal areas.

Shaded by jackalberry and sausage trees, each has its own veranda with a plunge pool, sala, and panoramic floodplain views that take in the passing wildlife. Whilst there is no designated family accommodation at Wilderness Little Mombo, it’s possible to access the two-bedroom suite at Wilderness Mombo, which is within walking distance. The well-designed bedrooms feature wooden louvre shutters, sliding mosquito net doors leading to the veranda, ceiling fans, and a spot cooling system over the bed, ideal for the warmer months. The camp provides hot water bottles and extra blankets when it’s colder. Each room has a writing desk, a comfortably furnished lounge area, a tea-and-coffee station, a mini-bar, an electric safe, and an exercise mat and weights. There are plenty of charging stations, including USB sockets by the beds. En-suite bathrooms have a double indoor shower, a stand-alone copper bathtub, an outdoor shower, a double basin vanity, and a separate toilet. Wi-Fi is available in all the suites.
