  • Both half-day and full-day game drives are possible – and if you opt for a full day on safari, staff will happily pack up a picnic for you. The Maasai Mara is best known for the Great Migration , with the huge herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles storming through the reserve from approximately July to November. However, there is loads of wildlife to observe all year round, including all of the Big Five – lion, rhino, leopard, elephant, and buffalo – as well as numerous other predators and herbivores. There are oodles of birds too!

    The standard of guiding is exceptionally high across all Naibor camps, and Little Naibor provides a very comfortable base from which to explore the reserve.

  • Guests may also head out to a local Maasai village, to interact with the people and to watch their traditional dances.

Little Naibor is one of a trio of properties forming Naibor Camp, together with Naibor Camp itself and the adventurous Naibor Wilderness . Like its bigger siblings, Little Naibor is situated in the Mara confluence sector of the Maasai Mara National Reserve . The setting of all three camps is beautiful – amidst greenheart and orange leaf croton trees on the south side of the River Talek. This side is quieter than the north side, yet just 2 kilometres from the place where the Talek joins the River Mara, famous for Great Migration crossings!

However, guests also have access to the communal spaces at Naibor’s main camp. These include lounge and dining areas within a classic mess tent, a boutique, and a spa. The mess tent contains comfy seating around a coffee table, elegant dining tables and chairs, and a friendly atmosphere! There is an outside dining area too, ideal for tucking in to al fresco meals while marvelling at the scenery. The spa tent is positioned in a remote corner of the site, ready to receive guests for relaxing massages! And Naibor’s boutique stocks a range of Maasai jewellery as well as pieces by designer Rosie Sharp.

All bedrooms are very well appointed, featuring both dark- and light-wood furnishings, sumptuous Persian rugs, and chairs recalling the campaign era. All have en-suite facilities too, comprising flush toilet, washbasins, and safari shower filled with hot water on request. The bedrooms are connected via a lounge, containing a sofa, two chairs, floor cushions, and a coffee table. And there is a veranda too, where you can relax and enjoy lovely river views!
