  • Explore the Timbila Nature Reserve during morning and afternoon game drives, led by expert safari guides. This area is home to a diverse range of wildlife, and you may well come across lion, elephant, and African wild dog on your travels! Sunrise drives allow you to experience the peaceful early-morning hours, while sunset excursions are accompanied by sundown drinks and snacks. It’s also possible to book a private game-drive vehicle, if you let us know in advance.

  • The Namibian bushveld is a treasure trove of surprises waiting to be discovered on foot. Accompanied by an experienced guide, discover the flora and fauna of the Timbila Nature Reserve, learning all about the sights, smells, and sounds of the bush.

  • Using a high-tech LoRaWAN tracking system, your guide will bring you as close as possible to the giants of the bush, whether you’re interested in lions, elephants, or rhinos. This is your chance to zoom in on a species that interests you most!

  • This tour introduces you to wildlife conservation and reserve management within Timbila Reserve. Go behind the scenes to see how the game reserve is managed and run, gaining insight into the tireless work of the anti-poaching team.

Access & Location

Timbila Safari Lodge is located high above the Timbila Nature Reserve in central Namibia. Guests fly into the TimBila Nature Reserve airstrip, which is serviced by all major carriers in Namibia, and the flight is followed by a 25-minute drive to the lodge.

Outside, the deck offers elevated views of the plains, with plenty of comfy seating designed for afternoons overlooking the reserve. Wellness facilities include a dedicated spa with an invigorating treatment list, and the ‘Keep Fit’ gym, where state-of-the-art equipment is matched with panoramic views. The heated infinity pool and shaded daybeds offer a quiet spot to relax and enjoy a swim. For special occasions or a romantic dinner, the cellar is stocked with sustainable labels and doubles as a private dining venue, serving a delicious menu with wine pairings.

The aesthetic is refined yet earthy, characterised by canvas ceilings and natural wood that reflect the surrounding wilderness. Inside, you’ll find four-poster beds with mosquito nets, a writing desk, a mini-bar, and a coffee station. The experience extends to the private deck, where guests can use the dedicated binoculars to observe passing wildlife and enjoy the outdoor stargazing beds. Wood-fired hot tubs are a cosy addition to the space and the ideal spot for a long soak after a day out on safari. Infant cots are available on request. Please note that children under the age of 12 must share with an adult.
