Trip Itinerary
Cape Town
Your holiday begins on your arrival into Cape Town, with three nights at Four Rosmead. Privately owned and run, this boutique hotel is a bit of a favourite at Yellow Zebra. It has a lovely location in a serene suburb and a pleasant lounge, breakfast room, veranda, and gardens complete with swimming pool! Four Rosmead is an ideal base from which to explore the city and to marvel at the surrounding scenery. Table Mountain is within easy reach – the hotel is actually situated on its lower slopes – and it’s a short drive to many of Cape Town’s attractions, such as Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the V&A Waterfront, Clifton and Camps Bay, the National Museum & Art Gallery, and Parliament Buildings.
Sabi Sands
Once you’ve had your fill of Cape Town, it is time for your Big Five safari. You’ll fly on to the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, to spend four nights at Lion Sands River Lodge. Lion Sands may well be a small reserve, but the lodge is one of the few properties here that allow access to both the private reserve and the Kruger itself. It offers incredible value for money considering its high standard of service, level of luxury, and quality of guiding. There’s a very comfortable open-plan lounge and dining area, with breathtaking views of the Sabie River. You can spend time on the deck too, watching out for wildlife while enjoying a drink or a meal. Lion Sands offers a fine assortment of safari activities, including expertly guided game drives, walking safaris, and a romantic night in a treehouse, sleeping under the stars.
