Born in London, Emma studied Travel and Tourism at college, then worked in travel within a variety of roles from airlines and operations to organising the travel for bands and musicians around the world. Her last role was in operations, arranging holidays and educational trips to cold, remote places that contrast with the warmth of Africa.
