Within the main house, there’s a spacious communal drawing room containing comfortable sofas, a huge coffee table, a cosy fireplace, and some intriguing artefacts and artworks. This space flows out onto the main house veranda, perfect for relaxing and enjoying views of the gardens. It is not unusual for guests to spot monkeys, warthogs, parrots, and peacocks amidst the trees, and to hear the occasional lion’s roar from the nearby national park!
Hemingways Eden offers a complimentary breakfast hamper, which can be enjoyed within the comfort of the guest rooms or ordered to take away. Guests can book lunch and dinner at Eden’s main restaurant and bar, The Deck, which has an à la carte menu and a set menu too. All fruit and vegetables are sourced from local farmer’s markets or from the owner’s own kitchen garden. There’s also the option of private dining or booking the ‘Chef’s Table’ to enjoy a live cooking experience (subject to availability).
