Gorilla treks will start out early in the morning. Accompanied by expert guides, guests will hike through the park on a mission to find one of the ten habituated family groups and to spend a full hour in their company! Mountain climbing will be a very exhilarating way to spend a morning or afternoon – or even a whole day.
And the birding in Volcanoes National Park is sure to thrill wildlife lovers, as the park’s forests are home to some of the most beautiful species in the world.
Facilities
The dining deck has lovely views over the lodge’s gardens and the fire-pit comprises a large ring of seating around a central fireplace.
Songa Africa reckons that this will be the most sustainable luxury nature resort in the East African region!

Amenities
The height of luxury and exclusivity as your home to visit the mountain gorillas – 4 enormous villas with in-house dining, as much privacy as you choose, and fantastic access to the park for trekking
The guest accommodation comprises of double beds with logs of varying heights providing a headboard, a couple of wooden bedside tables with lighting, and cushions, neatly arranged.
The palette itself is woody – a selection of browns on a neutral base. The rooms have en-suite facilities, and a gorgeous view from a private veranda!
