If you are looking to avoid the crowds on Zanzibar then Fundu Lagoon may well be the right place for you. Privacy and exclusivity are the selling points of Fundu; it’s one of Tanzania’s most famous beach properties.

A PADI 5-Star Gold Palm Resort, Fundu Lagoon has a first-rate dive centre and excellent diving, in addition to offering waterskiing, snorkelling, windsurfing and fishing.
While Fundu’s beach is good, and exclusive to guests, the lodge also has access to Misali Island, a fabulous private island, inside a protected marine conservation area, with some of the best beaches in Africa. Daily boat trips go out to Misali.
Facilities
The best suites are huge private villas with separate lounge areas and small pools.
There are then a couple of smaller suites as well as Beachfront and Hillside rooms. All the accommodation options are tented with thatch roofs, with the standard hillside and beachfront rooms having no separate lounge area or pools.
Amenities
The adventurous side of Fundu is complemented by the very high standards to which the resort itself adheres.
The communal areas include a wonderful infinity pool surrounded by natural forest and sea, as well as a jetty with open-air bar. There are another two bars as well as a spa and yoga platform overlooking the ocean. Meals are often served on the beach that runs in front of the entire property.
