Previously a cattle ranch, the owners at that time dedicated all their land to the conversation of the local wildlife, particularly rhino. In 2009, Lewa Safari Camp was born, and became the excellent, eco-friendly camp we know today. It is a fantastic camp to stay at if you enjoy a bit of luxury and privacy, with first rate guiding.

  • Well-loved lodge
The most affordable option in Lewa and a camp that offers decent standards for the lower price. With access to the same game areas as all other camps, it’s a worthy value option.

  • All of the guides at Lewa Safari are highly skilled, with some having worked within the Conservancy for over fifteen years. And the guides not only have their Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association certification, but they are also trained directly from the Conservancy itself to ensure they meet the ‘Lewa Standard’.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.

Bar

The main areas of the camp have a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere, with guests having the options of chilling out on the sofas, going for a dip in the pool, or having a drink at the bar. Table tennis in the outdoor lounge area is great fun for when guests are in between game drives! At dinner time, guests are seated at their own individual tables, giving them some privacy whilst also enabling them to communicate with their fellow guests should they wish.

Whether you are being served your breakfast by the pool in the outdoor lounge area, a picnic in the plains themselves, or afternoon tea, you can rest assured that the food, made with fresh ingredients, will be delicious! The camp is also very happy to cater for special dietary requirements, such as gluten free or vegan.
