Trip Itinerary
Lower Zambezi National Park
Kutali Camp is owned and run by experienced safari guides. The camp consists of a maximum of six spacious tents, each one with drop-down sides that can be raised during daylight hours for the accommodation to air, and lowered for cold nights, or when you need a little privacy. The sides are essentially just net walls, providing an unobstructed 270-degree view of the bush at all times of day and night, letting you feel truly immersed in your surroundings. Spend a couple of nights here before travelling onwards to Wilderness Busanga Bush Camp. You’ll have some fantastic stories to take home, from game drives and canoe excursions, to boat and walking safaris.
Kafue National Park
Next, you will fly via Lusaka to the remote northern reaches of the Kafue National Park, followed by a game drive transfer into camp. Wilderness Busanga Bush Camp is your home for the next four nights. With just four tents located under a canopy of sycamore fig trees, it’s an incredibly intimate base, and it’s a favourite amongst our specialists thanks to its access to the vast Busanga floodplains. While the camp itself is low key, the surrounding landscape is the true star of the show. The Busanga Plains offer an untamed wilderness experience. As morning mist rises over the vast grasslands, you’ll head out on expert-led game drives and, depending on the time of year, walking and boating safaris to explore the ecosystem. This area is known for its large prides of lion along with cheetah, wild dog, and large herds of puku and red lechwe. It’s also a vital stronghold for bird species, including crowned and wattled cranes. While the area is lesser known, our team highly rates the vast Busanga Plains as a stand-out Zambian safari destination.
