Victoria Falls

For the first part of your trip, you will fly to Victoria Falls and transfer by road to Ilala Lodge. This is a very impressive building, situated just 10 minutes’ walk from the entrance of Victoria Falls National Park! Ilala’s communal areas include a comfortable lounge and a restaurant that offers both indoor and al fresco dining. There is a great swimming pool as well. The guest accommodation is well appointed and you will stay in their standard rooms. This option features air conditioning, overhead fans, satellite television, en-suite bathroom with complimentary toiletries, and French doors on to Ilala’s beautiful garden grounds. When you are ready to try out some activities, you need only pop down to the lodge’s own adventure booking centre, where staff members will be happy to offer advice and book some exciting excursions for you.

Hwange National Park

Davison’s is owned and operated by Wilderness. It is one of the company’s more adventurous camps. However, in common with all Wilderness camps, Davison’s provides great guiding, excellent food and drink, and a friendly atmosphere all round! The main facilities of Wilderness Davison’s consist of a large lounge with bar, and a separate dining area. The guest accommodation is located along a well-trodden elephant path and comprises nice tented rooms with twin beds or double bed in addition to a two-bedroom family tent. Guests can also enjoy spotting wildlife from their tent’s private balcony. Activities at Wilderness Davison’s focus on game drives by day and by night, as well as walking safaris.

Overview & Activities

We strongly believe that any trip to Southern Africa should incorporate a visit to see Victoria Falls. Not only are The Falls themselves incredibly impressive, but visitors to this area can enjoy an excellent array of activities. White water rafting here is the wildest in the world, with bungee jumping, canoeing, zip wiring, and gorge swinging not too far behind! Seasoned daredevils will relish a swim in the aptly named Devil’s Pool, the pool right at the top of the Falls – absolutely awesome! Guests looking to take it slower can enjoy river cruises, shopping expeditions to Victoria Falls Town, and excursions to the local villages to get to know the people for whom this region is home.

A 4-hour drive or short flight from Victoria Falls gets you to Hwange National Park, which is one of the country’s foremost game-viewing parks. The elephant viewing is ridiculously good, and it is hard to beat spending time in one of the park’s photographic hides watching these incredible animals up close. Hwange is also known for its quality of guiding and amazing walking safaris. This allows you to get to know more of nature’s smaller beasts and learn a different side of the bush. Overall, this is a great combination of experiences to give you a real feel for Southern Africa.
