Our Yellow Zebra Opinion
  • Well-rounded and reliable
Located away from the Zambezi and focusing on the game around Mana’s pools, Kanga offers something a little different. As a result, it’s often paired with a camp on the riverfront.

  • Due to its status as the only source of water during the dry season in this remote area of Mana Pools, Kanga Pan is incredibly popular with wildlife – so the Camp is able to offer game drives and game walks of an exceptionally high standard.

  • Additionally, impressive concentrations of wildlife at the Pan means that guests do not have to leave camp to enjoy fantastic sightings – this is what the Camp calls ‘armchair safari’! Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo all roam the river systems, mixed woodlands and forests, while keen birdwatchers delight in spotting over 350 species of bird!

  • The Camp has permission for night drives too, when such animals as hyena, civet, porcupine and even honey badger come out to play.

  • The floodplains of the Zambezi are just an hour’s drive from camp and play host to exciting canoeing and fishing excursions. Guests might like to consider combining a stay at Kanga with its sister property Zambezi Expeditions, located on the banks of the river.

  • Finally, Kanga Under the Stars has four sleeping platforms about 1km from main camp, enabling guests to spend a night under the stars and surrounded by the sounds of the bush. This experience includes a three-course dinner around a camp fire and breakfast the following morning – highly recommended!
