Immersive sunrise or sunset scenic drives take guests to the remotest corners of the reserve. Soak up the desert, scan the terrain for wildlife, and marvel at the sheer vastness of the NamibRand. There’s a signature full-day option lasting 6 hours, so adventurers can spend uninterrupted time in nature accompanied by a picnic lunch.

Explore the Namib dunes on foot, accompanied by a knowledgeable Bushman, and take in the vital details of this spectacular and delicate ecosystem. You might even spot little critters like the toktokkie beetle and the indigenous dancing white lady spider as it sprints across the sand.

Venture to a remote, scenic spot where you’ll connect to nature in complete silence and experience moments of self-reflection and sheer stillness. This is an utterly unique 30–45-minute solitude experience, allowing guests to tune into nature, far away from technology and distractions.

A wonderful way to gain a unique perspective on the desert’s rugged beauty and its resident wildlife. Admire the landscape and take in the small details not visible from a vehicle, pausing along the way for a secluded picnic lunch. Please note that this activity incurs an additional cost.

Meet the Wolwedans team behind the scenes, learn about community-driven initiatives, and gain insight into the Wolwedans Foundation’s AridEden mission, which works towards empowering the team and fostering environmental and sustainability awareness.

E-biking is a high-energy activity that takes guests deep into the heart of terrain usually only accessed by 4×4 vehicles. The experience can be tailored to suit all levels, and experienced riders can spend a whole day outdoors with a picnic lunch. Please note that this e-biking incurs an additional cost. It’s also better suited to Namibia’s cooler winter months, between June and August.

An early morning 1 to 1.5-hour drive takes you to the balloon launch site. Once there, you’ll soar above the desert landscape in a hot air balloon, taking in the spectacular panoramic views, followed by a champagne breakfast at the landing spot. Please note that this activity requires advance booking and incurs an additional cost.

A sleep-out invites you to spend a night on the dunes beneath the stars, fully immersed in the vastness of the Namib Desert. Enjoy a simple dinner hamper under the African sky, and wake up to fresh morning coffee. A dedicated guide will be nearby throughout the night to ensure your comfort and safety, while respecting your privacy. This is a seasonal experience available from September to May, for stays of three nights or more. Please note that it incurs an additional cost.
