Our Yellow Zebra Opinion
  • Good option
We like the Nimali camps – they are smart, comfortable, and well run. So we have high hopes for their newest offering, which promises ten tents and a remote location in the northern Serengeti.

Expertly guided game drives

Great Migration viewing

  • These are available during early morning and late afternoon into evening. The northern region of the Serengeti is characterised by savanna, open woodlands, hills, and water sources such as the famous River Mara. All year round, you can look out for a wealth of wildlife, not least the Big Five – lion, rhino, leopard, elephant, and buffalo. Smaller predators and herbivores in residence include cheetah, hyenas, jackals, wild dog, giraffe, wildebeest, and all sorts of antelopes. And there are hundreds of types of bird, from raptors to songbirds to water-dwelling species.

  • Visit Nimali Mara during the period from July to October, and you’ll be well placed to witness the spectacular Great Migration . Huge herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles move around the North Serengeti during these months in their search for food. Where river crossings are involved, you’ll likely see Nile crocodile lurking in the waters, while the sheer volume of herbivores results in impressive concentrations of big cats roaming the plains.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
