As at Vundu, the quality of guiding at Little Vundu really raises the quality of this camp. Little Vundu shares the adventurous and authentic feel of Nick and Desiree’s other camps in the region – and while it may be pretty basic in design, the accommodation is comfortable. And the food and drink are excellent!

  • A morning walk and/or game drive begins the day, to follow tracks that have appeared overnight or to view the abundant game for whom Mana Pools is home. There is a lot to see here, including lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, African wild dog, eland, kudu, waterbuck – the list is endless!

  • Then the afternoon is the time for a further game drive or a canoe trip down the Lower Zambezi to watch for hippo and crocodile. For particularly keen canoeists, it is possible to take part in a canoe trail lasting two to three nights!

If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. The tent is shaded by acacia trees and a channel runs close beside it. The channel is very popular with local wildlife and it is common for guests to spot elephant drinking here and feasting on the lush grasses. Lion, leopard, hyena and wild dog all pass through camp too.

Amenities

The guest accommodation at Little Vundu is linked to the main tent via a footbridge.

Each tent is meru style and spacious, with twin beds and en-suite open-air facilities comprising flush toilet and bucket shower. Ample privacy is afforded by the tents’ location among sausage trees and ebony trees. The Zambezi is just 75m away!
