The sheer power of Victoria Falls is overwhelming, even at ground level – the constant thundering of that cascading water and the mass of spray rising where the curtain falls. From the air the view is even more breathtaking!

Best Time to Go

At over 1,500 metres wide and 100 metres high, Victoria Falls is the largest waterfall in the world! On first gazing at the spectacular sight in 1855, explorer David Livingstone remarked, ‘Scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight.’ Today, Livingstone’s words continue to resonate, not least in the Flight of Angels helicopter ride available at the Falls – a truly awesome experience.

Helicopter Flights

There are two types of helicopter flights available. The first, Flight of Angels, lasts for just under 15 minutes. It launches from Elephant Hills, situated 4 kilometres upstream from the Falls. It transports passengers back and forth over the Falls several times, and the pilot banks the helicopter to allow amazing views into all those chasms not visible from the ground!

The second flight is longer, just under half an hour. It also performs the Flight of Angels, then moves upstream to take in the Zambezi River and the adjacent National Park, where you will get to see some wildlife from the air.
