Trip Itinerary
Arusha
On arrival into Tanzania’s gateway city, Arusha, you’ll be transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge to freshen up and relax after your journey. Located just outside the city, this lodge is one of the oldest properties in the area. Although you’ll stay just one night here, it offers a great list of activities, including the coffee tour ‘From Bean-to-Cup’ within the lodge’s own grounds, in which the journey of the coffee bean is explained. Alternatively, if you are more keen on resting, the lounge, restaurants, bar, gardens, swimming pool, and spa might be the best places for you.
Ngorongoro Crater
On Day 2, you’ll take a flight to Lake Manyara Airport, where you’ll be transferred to &Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. Run by top safari company &Beyond, this property is famous for its unique Maasai-meets-Versailles style. All interiors are very lavish, featuring brocade sofas, beaded chandeliers, and panelled walls. And the views from the main lodge’s lounges, dining rooms, and decks are absolutely breath-taking! Every suite boasts a huge four-poster bed, an indoor fireplace, and a glamorous en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath. You even have your own butler, who will happily draw a rose-petal bubble bath for you! Here, you’ll enjoy an expertly guided game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, with opportunities to spot all Big Five – lion, rhino, leopard, elephant, and buffalo – as well as numerous smaller mammals and ample birdlife. Other activities include walking safaris in the Empakai Crater and nature walks around the lodge. It’s a thrilling start to your holiday!
Serengeti National Park
From &Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, you’ll travel to the North Serengeti for four nights at &Beyond’s Serengeti Under Canvas, a deluxe mobile camp that moves approximately every two months to keep up with the herds of the Great Migration. This camp offers the perfect blend of luxury and adventure. The accommodation consists of canvas tents, each with a very comfortable bedroom, well-appointed washing facilities including double bucket shower, and private veranda. From this authentic base, you’ll head out on expertly guided game drives. The period from July to October sees the Great Migration herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles moving around the North Serengeti in their search for food. There are lots of big cats about too, as well as impressive concentrations of other plains game and hundreds of birds. Serengeti Under Canvas also offers hot air balloon safaris.
Zanzibar
The final few days of your luxury trip are spent on idyllic Zanzibar! Small, intimate, and adults only, Zawadi Hotel is the perfect retreat, and will be your base for five nights. It has a lovely location on the Michamvi Peninsula, on Zanzibar’s south-east coast. The communal areas all have a very laidback beach feel, with their neutral-and-white furnishings and views of the sparkling sea. There’s a good assortment of in-house eateries, lounges and bars, as well as gorgeous grounds incorporating an infinity pool and a nature gym! Guest accommodation here consists of private villas, all well spaced along the ocean front. These too have that beach vibe, and each features a large double bed, a full en-suite bathroom, and sliding doors onto a private terrace. A stay here makes for a very romantic finale to your trip.
