Moving between Lamai in the north and the southern plains, this is a great choice for following the migration. All guests will have a private vehicle here, which just adds to the experience.

  • Serengeti National Park is a fabulous year-round destination for wildlife watching, with the area’s sprawling plains, woodlands, and water sources supporting a wide variety of species. At Nyasi, guests enjoy the exclusivity of a private vehicle. Drives usually take place in the early morning and late afternoon, although you might like to arrange full-day game drives as well.

  • The camp follows the herds, so guests will be afforded sightings of the famous river crossings and mega-herds. On any day, you can expect to see wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles making their way either through the crocodile-strewn waters or across the grassy plains.

  • Look out for lion, leopard, and cheetah lurking on the banks of the river following the wildebeest herds! There’s a lot of other resident wildlife too, including hyenas, jackals, elephant, rhino, buffalo (all of the Big Five ), and an exciting variety of antelopes. The birding is superb, featuring everything from raptors to songbirds to waterbirds.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.

Access & Location

The nearest international airport is Kilimanjaro International. Once guests have arrived at Arusha airport, they fly via private charter or scheduled flight to one of the smaller Serengeti airstrips: Mwiba or Makao airstrip for Nyasi Migrational Camp in the south, with Lamai Airstrip for the northern camp.

*As this is a mobile tented camp, the location will change throughout the year based on the camp’s position. Mobile tented camps relocate seasonally to follow wildlife movements. Temporary but fully serviced, mobile tented camps leave no permanent trace and offer access to remote wilderness areas far from the crowds.

Nyasi Migration Camp has its own main area, with a canvas lounge, mess tent, and bar area.

The main area is simple yet authentic, and the open-air lounge can be arranged outside to take advantage of the views. A fire-pit is usually set up just a short stroll from each mess tent, providing the perfect place for social gatherings.

Amenities

Operating as a seasonal camp across two locations within the Serengeti, the camp has great guest accommodation consisting of eight en-suite tents and one family tent.

All tents can be made up as twin or king configuration, with the possibility of an extra bed.

Every standard tent has a double bed with mosquito nets, bedside tables and lighting, end-bed seating, and a wardrobe. The en-suite facilities are accessed through a zipped opening to the side of the tent, and they comprise toilet, washbasin/s, and classic bucket shower.
