Our most popular ‘multi-country’ safari routes tend to fall into three sub-categories as shown below:
- ‘Pan-Africa’ safaris cover the highlights of both East and Southern Africa, a minimum of two to three weeks is the ideal time you need to make this vacation worthwhile.
- The ‘ultimate’ safari for those with time on their side! ‘East Africa’ will show you the open plains of the Serengeti, the volcanic Ngorongoro Crater, the famous Maasai Mara, exceptional cultural safaris plus the mountain gorillas.
- ‘Tanzania and Kenya’ showcases the best of these two stand out East African safari destinations.
- Finally, ‘Southern Africa’ trips tend to cover Cape Town, a Big Five safari potentially in South Africa’s Kruger National Park (likely the Sabi Sands) or Botswana’s Okavango Delta, and Victoria Falls.
A safari to East Africa, for example, may well include a big cat safari in Tanzania’s Serengeti and a brief gorilla safari in Rwanda, while other trips can comprise colossal ‘pan-Africa safaris’, showcasing the breathtaking highlights of ‘Safari Africa’.

The best piece of advice we can give you is simply to go with the area you’ve always had in your mind. If you’re most passionate about seeing the open plains of the Serengeti, for example, then go to East Africa. Likewise, if Botswana’s Okavango Delta is your dream destination, then not focusing on Southern Africa will likely be something you’ll regret. Going with your original thought is often the right decision; it’s really as simple as that.
