  • May, June, and October are perfect for water-based activities, with calm lake conditions and fewer crowds.
  • July to October is ideal for combining with Zambia’s prime wildlife experiences, when the weather is clear and dry in Malawi.
  • November to March is hot, humid, and rainy, and many lodges close. It’s generally best to avoid travel at this time.
When to visit Malawi
Malawi is one of the last countries in Safari Africa that can truly claim to be unblemished by tourism – it feels like the continent’s best-kept secret. Lake Malawi is undoubtedly one of Africa’s most pristine beaches, whilst the likes of Liwonde and Majete can easily hold their own against the safari world’s biggest names.
