Renée is the Marketing Director at Yellow Zebra Safaris.

Having run marketing departments for some of the world’s most successful digital travel brands, she was thrilled at the opportunity to join Yellow Zebra and head up such a dynamic and enthusiastic team.

Renée’s Most Memorable Experience

“It’s very difficult to pick the most memorable part of my journey to South Africa – from getting to experience my first game drive, to spending an afternoon on the Blue Train, the entire trip just blew me away. But a particular standout memory was a sunrise balloon trip over the Magalies River Valley. Although admittedly after spending the night dancing to live jazz at the Johannesburg Marabi Club, the 04:00 wake-up call was a little tough! But taking in those spectacular views of the Cradle of Humankind and the majestic Magaliesberg Mountain Range, all in the light of the morning sun – it was certainly worth the early start.”

Renée’s Bio

Originally a graduate from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Renée has spent the last two decades immersing herself in all aspects of marketing, specifically within travel. Over this time, she has been involved in numerous campaigns to promote some of the most thrilling and unique travel experiences possible, working with leading travel brands in their specialist areas. Always happy to engage in adventure, she enjoyed her first role with a polar expedition cruise operator, and this job took her up to the High Arctic on a Russian icebreaker!

Other work trips have included to the Galapagos, India, Iceland, the Indian Ocean, and Morocco, where she organised a charity climb of Mount Toubkal as part of a role heading up her employers’ Responsible Travel initiative. Beyond her professional life, she loves being active and spending time outdoors, taking every opportunity to escape to the south coast of England where her family lives. She’s an avid cook and fine wine enthusiast – and has already enjoyed ‘friendly’ debates with her South African colleagues about the merits of English wine! Personal vacations have included traveling around Myanmar visiting community projects and drinking tea with monks. She once visited Oman, where she stayed deep in the Al Hajar Mountains, before camping in the desert and spending time at a turtle conservation center. She’s also done road trips through America’s deep south and New Zealand. As she is already very well traveled and with a naturally adventurous spirit, her list of African countries visited won’t be standing at two for long as we send her throughout ‘Safari Africa’ and welcome her warmly as our new marketing supremo!
