Guests who are able to leave their luxury villa will be richly rewarded with a very full menu of activities. Included in the price of the stay are a snorkelling trip to the local coral reefs, using Alfajiri’s own ngalawa, or traditional canoe! All sorts of community visits also come for free, such as to an orphanage and to villages in the area.
Guests in need of pampering will appreciate complimentary access to gym and sauna facilities close to their villa. At extra cost, there is an exciting assortment of watersports and courses – diving, kitesurfing, deep sea fishing, and even an excursion by dhow to the Kisite Marine National Park! Day safaris are also available, to Shimba Hills and Tsavo East National Park. Other sports include quad biking in the Shimba Hills and golf at a nearby 18-hole championship course! This is among the most scenic in East Africa, with lush tropical foliage that attracts several species of birds and monkeys.
Cliff Villa is positioned on a coral cliff, overlooking the white sands and turquoise waters of the beach below. Alfajiri is a one-and-a-half-hour drive from Mombasa International Airport, and less than 10 minutes’ drive from the Diani airstrip.
This villa can accommodate a maximum of ten guests in four bedrooms – due to the varying sizes of the bedrooms, it is highly recommended for families.
There is one twin room on the first floor, two doubles on the first floor, and a charming turret room with 270-degree views of the sea at the top! Both double rooms contain a private veranda. The reception rooms comprise a spacious lounge, also with veranda, and dining areas. The style is bright and breezy, with flowing fabrics and a nod to East Africa in the collection of artefacts – and the villa boasts its own swimming pool!
Garden Villa also provides amazing views of Diani Beach. This villa benefits from gorgeous garden grounds, including a long stretch of lawn that rolls from the private infinity pool all the way down to the sea. The villa’s veranda has an immense makuti roof and wooden beams over an okra floor. Interior features incorporate plenty of East African artefacts for an authentic feel. There is a large lounge, dining areas, and four bedrooms in total, accommodating up to ten guests. Three bedrooms are doubles, one is a twin – and all have lovely sea views and ample en-suite facilities!
Completing the trio is Beach Villa, just steps from the beach and designed to offer the ultimate in beachfront luxury. There are two double rooms on the first floor, while the first floor contains one double and one twin room. The lounge and dining areas boast beautiful handmade furnishings, creating the sense of a home from home. The villa also has a large veranda, similar to the veranda at Garden Villa, while the grounds include tall palm trees, affording lots of privacy. There is also a private overflowing swimming pool!
