Deloraine offers a great range of activities, as follows:
The house has extensive stables, home to over sixty horses. Please note, for safety reasons, Offbeat Safaris does not offer riding activities to children. Guests aged 16 years and over can enjoy hacking, cross-country, and polo! The mountainside around Deloraine is a very scenic location for horse rides, while cross-country trips include jumps. The house’s polo pitch is full size, perfect for really keen equestrians.

Beautiful Lake Nakuru is situated at the heart of Lake Nakuru National Park , which covers 188 square kilometers within the Great Rift Valley. The park may be small by most safarists’ standards, but it’s highly scenic and it contains many wildlife highlights. The best known of these is the vast flocks of flamingos, but there are a lot of mammals to view as well – lion, leopard, cheetah, black and white rhinos, and Rothschild giraffe. Among numerous other bird specials are greater spotted eagle, gray crowned crane, Kenya rufous sparrow, and shining sunbird.

Guests can also head out to lakes Bogoria and Baringo. In common with Lake Nakuru, both these bodies of water are features of the Great Rift Valley. Bogoria boasts impressive populations of flamingo too, while Baringo has a Goliath heronry, set on a rocky islet.

The communal facilities at Deloraine are equally impressive.
In the drawing room, well-cushioned sofas are positioned around a rather grand bow-legged coffee table, in front of a welcoming fireplace. There are occasional tables too, as well as sophisticated lighting, long rows of shelves bulging with books, more artwork, and colourful Persian-style rugs on the shiny wooden floor. The dining room features one large table where everyone eats together, seated on brass-studded leather chairs. Guests can also relax and tuck in to delicious food and drink on the house’s wide verandas, all the while marvelling at views over the mature gardens. The grounds include a croquet lawn, a tennis court, and a swimming pool, so there’s plenty to keep guests entertained in between trips out to Lake Nakuru and other areas!
There are eight rooms – three double rooms and two family rooms are situated inside the house, while the grounds contain three double rooms within an adjacent cottage.
All options are very spacious and comfortable. A double room typically contains a four-poster double bed, bedside stands and lamps, a writing desk and chair, other elegant lighting, snug rugs underfoot, and some tasteful wall art. En-suite facilities comprise flush toilet, washbasin, shower, and bathtub. The two rooms allocated to a family share a bathroom. Within the house, both upstairs and downstairs accommodation is available.
