In common with Chui Lodge, Kiangazi House offers a fine assortment of activities:
Drives usually take place during mid-afternoon. The Oserengoni Wildlife Sanctuary comprises over 7,000 hectares of savanna, woodlands, and water sources, and it links with Hell’s Gate National Park and the shores of Lake Naivasha via wildlife corridors. Over 50 mammal species live within the sanctuary, including lion, leopard, serval, Grevy’s zebra, topi, impala, warthog, and lesser galago. Guests also have the option to venture into Hell’s Gate, which has an impressive range of predators and herbivores.

Venture out after sunset, and you can look out for the nocturnal species of Oserengoni, among them leopard, spotted hyena, and black-backed jackal.

Home to over 400 bird species, the sanctuary is a dream destination for keen birders! Highlights include long-crested eagle, Klaas’s cuckoo, black-backed puffback, and spectacular weaver. And if you take a trip to Lake Naivasha, you’ll enjoy sights of a multitude of waterbirds, not least flamingo, Goliath heron, and pied kingfisher.

Walks start out from the lodge during early morning. Also accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, they’re ideal for anyone interested in close observation of the sanctuary’s plants, insects, and birdlife.

A boat safari across Lake Naivasha provides opportunities to look out for the region’s many waterbirds, as well as hippos wallowing in the waters and other mammals quenching their thirst on the lake’s banks.

Famous for being the biggest flower producer in Kenya, the local flower farm is well worth seeing! Join a tour here, and you’ll be astounded by the variety and quantity of roses, carnations, sunflowers, and much more besides.

The shared spaces at Kiangazi House are as homely and welcoming as the guest bedrooms.
They include the pleasant lounge, which features plush sofas and armchairs around sturdy coffee tables, a cozy fireplace, and even an upright piano! The lounge adjoins the well-stocked bar, which also has a fireplace and flows through to the library/TV room. The indoor dining room is the setting for hearty and tasty meals, prepared using fresh ingredients from Kiangazi’s own farm and dairy. Guests can also opt to tuck into delicious food and drink on the house’s veranda, while appreciating views of the gardens and the nearby waterhole. The gardens contain a large swimming pool, surrounded by inviting sunloungers. This is the perfect place to relax between excursions into the wildlife sanctuary and farther afield!
There are seven bedrooms – three in the main house, while the remaining four are set out within the grounds.
Two of the main house rooms are double, while the third offers twin beds. All rooms are exquisitely styled. In addition to the comfortable bed or beds, furnishings include bedside tables and lighting, a dressing table cum writing desk with padded stool or chair, a separate seating area, and ample storage space. The wooden floors are laid with snug rugs or matting, while the walls are adorned with charming artwork, for example a quartet of bird portraits. Every room has well-appointed en-suite facilities, such as a flush toilet, bidet, washbasin with mirror over, and bathtub with shower attachment. And there are lovely views over the gardens or a popular waterhole!
