From Ndutu, guests have access to the Serengeti’s short-grass plains, which attract the huge herds of the Great Migration! The weeks from mid-February until early March are particularly thrilling, as this is the calving season for wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles. The presence of newborns draws in impressive concentrations of predators – lion, leopard, cheetah, and more!

The lake also entices additional wildlife such as hippo, antelopes, and hundreds of bird species.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.

Also with a shady veranda, this tent is spacious too – and it has a general feeling of airiness. In the lounge, there’s well-cushioned seating around a coffee table, as well as a selection of reading material that’s displayed in open shelving to one side. The dining area features a couple of tables flanked by campaign chairs. At the back of the tent, there’s the camp’s bar and a record player. The walls are adorned with a few wildlife pictures, adding to the authentic safari vibe! And outside there’s a fire-pit, a great gathering place for pre-dinner drinks while getting to know your fellow travelers.
The guest accommodation here consists of seven safari tents, all very spacious and available as either a double or a twin room.
Each tent’s roof extends over the entrance to create a pleasant shady veranda, complete with a couple of campaign chairs and a small table – a smashing little spot for relaxing, having a drink, and enjoying your view! Inside, the beds have a 6-inch mattress and there’s solar lighting, a luggage rack, and comfortable matting on the canvas floor. You’ll find the en-suite facilities at the back of the tent – flush toilet, washbasin within a vanity unit, and shower. There’s also plenty of hanging space here.
