Trip Itinerary
Arusha
On Day 1 of this itinerary, you’ll touch down into Arusha and be taken to Rivertrees Country Inn for the night. This comfortable property is well located at the end of one of Arusha’s loveliest tree-lined drives. Depending on your travel day to Tanzania, you’ll be able to relax in the gardens or by the pool before heading to the homely lounge, bar, and veranda area in the evening. You’ll stay in one of the Garden Rooms for the night and be transferred the next day to begin the safari. Please note that this is on a B&B accommodation basis.
Ngorongoro Crater
After a restful night, you’ll leave Arusha and head to Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp. This property is very pleasantly located in the shade of acacia trees on the Ngorongoro Crater’s eastern rim. Its communal lounge and dining areas are housed in a classic mess tent, which also has a veranda where you can relax together and enjoy breath-taking views! Lemala Ngorongoro is closer to the entrance down to the crater floor than any other property in the entire region. This means that if you’re able to make an early start, you’ll be rewarded with an expertly guided game drive on the crater floor when it’s at its quietest all day. Wildlife highlights include all Big Five – lion, rhino, leopard, elephant, and buffalo – as well as numerous smaller mammals and ample birdlife. During your time at Lemala Ngorongoro, you’ll enjoy expertly guided game drives, Crater rim walks, and hiking in the region’s forests. Cultural visits with the Maasai are possible too.
Serengeti National Park
At the end of your stay at Lemala Ngorongoro, you’ll fly to the North Serengeti, where you’ll stay at Lemala Mara. Situated near the famous Mara River, this mobile camp offers a superb base from which to follow the Great Migration’s herds. The guest tents here are similar to the tents at Lemala Ngorongoro, from a comfy bedroom/lounge space to a lovely private deck. Activities from Lemala Mara focus on viewing the thousands-strong herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles making up the Great Migration, as they push up into the Serengeti’s northern region in search for food. You’re likely to spot plenty of big cats too, as well as crocodiles lying in wait for a hapless herbivore in the Mara river! And there are hundreds of bird species.
Zanzibar
After your days at Lemala Mara, it’s time to hit the beach! You’ll fly out to Zanzibar’s international airport and be transferred to Breezes Beach Club & Spa. This resort property has a fabulous location on a stretch of beach along the island’s Michamvi Peninsula. There’s a great range of restaurants and bars, as well as a spa, gym, flood-lit tennis court, and swimming pool! The accommodation option we’ve selected for you is a Standard Room, featuring a nicely presented bedroom, seating area, en-suite washroom, and private terrace with gorgeous garden views. Breezes offers an exciting variety of watersports, including diving, snorkelling, kayaking, windsurfing, kite surfing, paddle boarding, and sailing. Biking around the island is possible too, and you can have a lot of fun exploring some of Zanzibar’s finest attractions, not least Stone Town and Jozani Forest. Alternatively, you can spend all your time relaxing on the beach, enjoying the final few days of your trip.
