Nancy Sutcliffe
Nancy’s combined love of travel and organisation has led her to join the Yellow Zebra Operations team.
Originally from London, Nancy is incredibly well-traveled. She’s lived and worked across Australia and New Zealand, and explored amazing destinations across the world – with many more still to explore. Now working in the travel industry in the UK, she combines her love of travel and organizational skills to help create unforgettable trips for Yellow Zebra’s travelers.
Nancy’s Recent Travel Experience
Nancy recently made the decision to revisit her solo backpacking days and fly to Colombia in search of adventure. She loved experiencing a new culture, admiring the colourful architecture, eating delicious food, and discovering beautiful new landscapes. And all whilst making new friends along the way!
Nancy’s Most Memorable Experience
“In order to secure my second-year visa in Australia, I had to complete 3 months of farm work in the outback. Determined to extend my stay, I found a job picking and packing courgettes. I lived in very basic accommodation alongside 30 other like-minded backpackers from all over the world. We’d often come across huge spiders and poisonous snakes, but the farm owner (our boss) was by far the scariest of all! It was a crazy experience and one I will never ever forget.”
Nancy’s Bio
After graduating with an English and Media honors degree from Portsmouth University, Nancy was keen to say goodbye to England and start exploring the world, so she flew to Australia to work and travel. It was here that her love of travel really blossomed, resulting in many trips backpacking around South-East Asia and other parts of Australasia. She also went on to work and travel in New Zealand, which is still to this day one of her favorite countries.
On returning home to London, she built a career in People Operations, before deciding to follow her passion for travel. Previous to joining the YZ team, she worked at another luxury tour operator, in the South-East Asia department. To this day, Nancy has visited 31 countries within Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, Australasia, the Middle East, and North America – and she still has many more countries to tick off her bucket list!
