Trip Itinerary
Victoria Falls
Begin your safari at Wilderness Toka Leya, a traditional camp with a first-rate location right on the banks of the Zambezi River. Being inside Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park means you have the best of both worlds, balancing tranquil downtime with wildlife viewing and action-packed activities around Victoria Falls. You’ll feel completely secluded in the bush, while being just a stone’s throw from Livingstone. Toka Leya is all about low-key comfort and total flexibility, allowing you to set the pace of your days and be as active or relaxed as you choose. Unwind with a spa treatment or a swim in the pool, enjoy a spot of catch-and-release fishing on the river, and end the day with a scenic sunset cruise. As one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, guided tours of Victoria Falls are a major highlight. We can also arrange helicopter flights and adventure activities such as white-water rafting, zip-lining, and bungee jumping (please note, these activities incur an additional cost).
The Linyanti
Next, you’ll spend three nights at Wilderness King’s Pool in the remote 125,000-hectare Linyanti Wildlife Reserve. This luxury camp overlooks a lagoon on the Linyanti River, which forms a natural border between Botswana and Namibia. The range of habitats here is incredibly diverse, including woodlands, plains, and riverine forests, where there are frequent sightings of lion, leopard, elephant, and African wild dog. You’ll spend your days exploring the reserve on day and night game drives, and photography enthusiasts will love the underground hide where you can safely view wildlife at eye level. Depending on water levels, boat excursions on the Queen Silvia barge are a stand-out activity, culminating in high tea and sundowners as hippos wallow nearby. Guided walks take in the smaller details of life in the bush, from plants and insects to a spectacular array of birds like the lilac-breasted roller and carmine bee-eater. By night, gather around the campfire for stargazing and dine under the stars to the sounds of the bush.
Okavango Delta
Your last three nights are at Wilderness Qorokwe, a stylish camp in a private concession bordering Moremi Game Reserve. This area between the Santantadibe and Gomoti channels is a predator stronghold roamed by lion, leopard, cheetah, and African wild dog, where permanent water sources ensure exceptional year-round game viewing. Overlooking a lagoon, the camp is a magnet for birdlife, including a spectacular array of resident and migratory species. You’ll explore the surrounding bush on day and night game drives, seasonal guided walks, and mokoro (dug-out canoe) excursions, gliding silently past reed frogs and water birds. Boat trips allow you to explore the deeper channels (water-level dependent), and catch-and-release fishing is also available. A highlight of a three-night stay is a full-day excursion with a picnic lunch to the Gomoti Plains, an area renowned for its high concentrations of wildlife. In between activities, the pool deck is a relaxing place to cool off, or you can opt for an in-room massage before your journey home.
