Trip Itinerary
Okavango Delta
Begin your Okavango experience with three nights at Wilderness Little Vumbura, enjoying the camp’s stunning location on a private island, within a private concession in the northern reaches of the Delta. Considered one of Botswana’s finest small camps, it’s charming and well off the beaten track. The very comfortable communal spaces include an open-sided lounge, a library, a dining area where everyone eats together, a fantastic little star deck complete with a fire-pit, and an inviting plunge pool! Activities here are very much season-dependent, but they include daily game drives, night drives, guided walks, boat trips, fishing, and mokoro excursions. Little Vumbura has the advantage of being able to offer water activities all year round.
Okavango Delta
Next, you’ll spend three nights at Wilderness Chitabe. This camp is located within a private concession in the southern delta, an area renowned for some of the best dry-land game viewing in Botswana, and offering a complete contrast to Little Vumbura’s waterways. Chitabe’s spacious tented suites are a blend of stylish design and comfort. Thanks to the warm hospitality, it’s a camp where you’ll feel entirely at home while immersed in the wild surroundings. Chitabe is situated in prime wildlife-sighting territory due to the area's diverse habitats and the ever-changing species brought to the floodplains by the seasonal Gomoti River. Explore the impressive landscapes, see big game on day and night game drives, and get to know the resident insects, plants, and birdlife on guided nature walks. You could also take to the skies on a scenic helicopter trip for an aerial view of the region’s waters, savanna, woods, and forests (available at an additional cost). Chitabe is one of Botswana’s most rewarding year-round wildlife destinations.
