Trip Itinerary
Kruger National Park
Your trip starts in a very exciting way. You will be met on arrival in Johannesburg and transferred to an hour-long flight that whisks you straight into the bush! It’s also a scenic flight with lots to see. Within hours of arriving in SA you are on safari, Impala being brushed from the runway, and game viewing straight away as you make your way to Tanda Tula to stay for 4 nights. This stunning lodge has only 9 canvas and glass suites, all incredibly spacious, bright and airy – to make the most of the surrounding landscape. Each room has wonderful views overlooking the Nhlaralumi riverbed. Ecologically sensitive while still remaining state of the art, this camp is a beautiful place from which to enjoy a wide variety of safari activities in the game-rich Timbavati Private Concession, within the Kruger. You have an excellent chance of seeing the Big 5, as well as cheetah, spotted hyena and wild dog.
Cape Town
From the bush you then fly back to Cape Town, where you will be met on arrival and transferred to Ellerman House to stay for 3 nights. This is recognized as the finest hotel in the city. Located in the Bantry Bay area and with stunning views of Table Mountain and across the sea, this Edwardian mansion has just 15 suites, top class cuisine, and is the perfect base from which to arrange any of the wealth of activities Cape Town has to offer. Museums, shopping, Robben Island, the Cape of Good Hope, many wonderful hikes, mountain biking, beaches, water sports, this is to name a few! Often people spend longer on their second time in Cape Town because there are so many amazing activities. But equally, Ellerman House is so nice, you might find it hard to drag yourself away from its cliffside comforts!
The Winelands
Leaving the city behind, you will then travel up into the Winelands to stay for 4 nights at Le Quartier Francais. New owners have breathed life into this old Winelands favourite. It’s a very classy affair. And you don’t have to be especially interested in wine to enjoy this fantastic region – you are surrounded by the awe-inspiring mountain scenery and some of the best restaurants in Africa. You can choose to do as much, or as little as you like. With its superb cuisine, wine tasting, and spa and wellness centre at Le Quartier, you have the perfect base from which to enjoy activities – beautiful walks and biking trips with magical views are a real highlight. Guest accommodation consists of a variety of beautiful suites to choose from, all with their own unique design (chat to one of our specialists about which is their favourite!). Elegant and sophisticated, Le Quartier Francais is the perfect tranquil end to an amazing journey into South Africa…
