  • Game drives at Chyulu Lodge take place in custom-made, open-air Rivian Safari EV vehicles, powered by the sun’s renewable energy and emitting zero emissions and noise. Led by expert Maasai guides, connect with the ancient beauty of the Chyulu Hills and discover the unique biodiversity of this natural environment. Besides all Big Five species, frequent sightings include Maasai giraffe, Grant’s zebra, a variety of antelope, and even cheetah.

Chyulu Lodge is situated within the private Olpusare Conservancy between the Chyulu Hills and Mount Kilimanjaro. The lodge is accessed via light aircraft from Nairobi, followed by a short game drive transfer.

Comfy, cozy, and rustic, each unit features mosquito netting over the beds, bedside tables with reading lights, ample storage, and a writing desk with a director’s chair. Persian rugs adorn the floors, adding a splash of color, while wooden storage trunks serve as a reminder of the original safaris of yesteryear. Each tent features an en-suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers, as well as an eco-friendly flush toilet. You’ll also find an electronic safe, a movable fan, a flashlight, and bathrobes for use during your stay. An additional layer of canvas extends from the entrance to form a shaded, private veranda with outdoor seating, perfect for admiring the views and any passing wildlife.
