Trip Itinerary
The Linyanti
Savuti Camp is a classic safari property, situated on the banks of the Savuti Channel and within a private concession. Whether the Savuti Channel is flowing or even when dry, this camp gives you front-row seats to the untamed drama that unfolds here. Once you’ve flown into Botswana, you’ll head to the Linyanti reserve for three nights of wildlife viewing. Highlights of the Linyanti include four of the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo – in addition to cheetah, hyena, jackal, wild dog, hippo, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, and a fine assortment of antelopes. And birders can scan the skies, woods, and waters for fish eagle, saddle-billed stork, lilac-breasted roller, and many other species. The activities consist of expertly guided game drives, night drives, star-bed sleep-outs, and viewing from hides, as well as seasonal boat trips, guided walks, and catch-and-release fishing. Keen photographers can even make use of the camp’s ‘Photo Hub’, to review and edit their snapshots.
Okavango Delta
From the Linyanti, it’s time to head to Little Vumbura Camp, a camp that we have rated highly for a long time! It has a fantastic setting on a private island, guaranteeing great views over the private concession in which it resides. The wildlife you can expect to see here includes lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo (four of the Big Five!), plus hyena, hippo, giraffe, greater kudu, tsessebe, and red lechwe. And there are a lot of bird specials too, such as white-backed night heron, wattled crane, and Pel’s fishing owl. Things to do all year round include expertly guided game drives and night drives, boat trips and mokoro excursions, while season-dependent activities comprise guided walks and catch-and-release fishing. Pay a little extra, and you can enjoy a helicopter scenic flight!
